It is sometimes said that a product is never really finished and that after its launch the next steps can already be taken to further optimize it. To meet the requirements of modern architecture, AluK introduced the ultra-slim high-end sliding door system "Infinium" several years ago. At Polyclose, the manufacturer is presenting some new design and configuration options for this sliding system, responding to the needs of the structural engineer, architect and building owner alike. At the booth, visitors can also learn about some other innovative developments.
Infinium by AluK is known for its ultra-slim sightlines and a center post of barely 21 mm. In short: a minimalist appearance, unlimited visibility and a space optimally filled with natural daylight prevail in any building thanks to this sliding door system. "Today we are going one step further and developed, among other things, a flat sill for this system. The new flat sill solution further improves aesthetics and ergonomics thanks to a continuous view at floor level without interruption. By applying the flat sill, the sash is easy to (dis)assemble without any breaking in the ceiling," they tell us at AluK.
"New wheel sets ensure that this configuration is feasible with an increased sash weight of up to 400 kg. But also, even the heaviest Infinium sliding door is still user-friendly. Also, the new slim handle is designed so that the screw heads are no longer visible. This also contributes to the aesthetics of the sliding door system."
Choice abounds at Infinium. In addition to the existing duo and tri-rail systems, a monorail version is now available and even up to six sashes can be applied. With a 90º opening angle, any living space can be effortlessly connected. In addition, AluK offers a configuration where the glass panes meet at a 90° angle without the use of a corner profile. This creates an extremely elegant, light and transparent effect.
"Due to its modern system design with excellent thermal performance, Infinium more than meets current standards. The sash is available in different configurations and can handle dimensions of 3000 mm (W) and 3500 mm (H) per sash," continued AluK. "This makes the Infinium a very efficient and innovative system that is easy to manufacture and install. In addition, the sliding system can also operate fully automatically. This is an attractive feature for high-end projects."
So at AluK, they continue to invest continuously in the development of new products and the optimization of their existing products. This will once again be evident at Polyclose. In addition to the new developments for Infinium, the manufacturer is also presenting other innovations at the European trade fair for window, door, sun protection, façade and access technology. For example, the company will present a new aluminum window system with sash-covering glass, a number of new developments within the high-insulating Ventà and Illuma series.
