However, the hinge is not thicker than normal. The overall thickness of AXA Titan^® is 8 mm and thus fits in the same recess as an 89 x 89 x 3 mm hinge. New locking system

AXA Titan^® is a patented design and made entirely of solid steel. As previously described, the series complies with SKG*** (resistance class 3) and the construction conforms to the latest security requirements within NEN 5096, when using three hinges. The operation of the locking system is based on blocking of the hinge pin, making the application of thieves' claws unnecessary.

There is pure time savings there as well, for both the carpentry shop and the person who hangs off the doors. Because the thief's claw is missing, no extra recess to be made in the frame. It also makes painting easier and faster. In addition, moisture and dirt have less chance, making the AXA Titan^® contributes to extending the maintenance interval of the door in question.
