WhatsApp message: 'Wrappers are bosses!

When you receive a WhatsApp message from a customer who is extremely satisfied with the work done, you are doing something right. Henk de Bruin, director of Holland Geveltechniek, had the honor of receiving this message from the Dutch celebrity Freek Vonk after the wrap work on his new penthouse was completed.

As an expert in facade renovation and transformation, Holland Geveltechniek is busier than ever. "The foil is literally unstoppable," says De Bruin. We walk with him past some of the beautiful foil projects the company has completed recently.

Good preparation is half the battle

Holland Geveltechniek provides a 10-year warranty on the applied film. This means that the preparation process is crucial, in order to achieve tight and maximum adhesion of the foil. Such was the case with a project in Ridderkerk, where De Bruin and his team applied Avery film to an office building. "This involved cladding facade panels and window frames. A brilliant combination was made of anthracite foil on the facade panels and metallic foil on the window frames. In order to be able to carry out the work as it should be, we first machine-sanded all the parts to be wrapped and then cleaned them. The result is impressive, the building looks impressive again, with the window frames as eye-catching accents," says De Bruin.

Total transformation gives totally different look

We continue our "journey" from Ridderkerk to Roosendaal in Brabant. There, Holland Geveltechniek transformed a commercial building from yellow/white to matte black façade elements with metallic window frames at the client's request. "The 'before and after' effect is extreme in this type of transformation and provides an absolute 'wow factor.' A building literally takes a journey through time through such a transformation. The end result shouts 'welcome to 2019' and offers a sight that will last for decades to come," De Bruin explains. "Bear in mind that the foil we apply is not only intended to create an optical effect, but actually contributes to protecting the facade."

Film protects against coastal weather conditions

We have now arrived in the coastal region, where Holland Geveltechniek has given the Zorghotel De Kim in Noordwijk a new look. "Especially on the coast, the protective power of foil on facade parts and window frames ensures that an extra protection occurs. The influence of salty sea air should not be underestimated, paintwork is affected by this over time. However, our foil acts as a kind of armor and provides excellent protection for the building components," outlines De Bruin. Also on the coast we find the new penthouse of well-known Dutchman Freek Vonk. He sent the complimentary WhatsApp message mentioned at the beginning of this article after work was done. A special job, De Bruin thinks. "This involved wrapping the inside of no less than 25 sliding doors in the apartment. Avery produced a color especially for Freek Vonk, which was given the eloquent name 'midnight sand'. A fun anecdote to this great assignment is that Freek Vonk asked us to make everything 'Johan proof'. When we asked who Johan was, he replied that he was the demolishing house dragon. Well, you're either at home with Freek Vonk or you're not," says De Bruin, laughing.  

All aluminum sliding doors (25 of them) are coated with façade film from Avery Dennison in the color Midnight Sand Mat, this color was specially produced by Avery for this project, on the customer's request.
