EDGE Amsterdam West's renovated office building is an absolute eye-catcher in the capital's rich landscape.
With a view to a greener and sustainable future, it was decided to upgrade the building to a more sustainable and technologically advanced level. The health and comfort of the people who work there was also made a priority. The crown jewel of the building, the dome, was therefore equipped with DucoGrille NightVents.
After nearly 3 years of construction, the result is certainly to be seen. The new building seamlessly blends history and modernity into an architectural masterpiece. In the center of the complex, the domed atrium roof provides the supply of light.
The new atrium roof is a real eye-catcher. With a span of 76 meters, it is the second largest glass dome in Europe. This structure also incorporates 40 DucoGrille NightVents. These ensure that the roof has a practical added value. Through these vents, ventilation can be provided according to need and the entire interior space can also be cooled by fresh outside air. If they all open at the same time, 106,000 m3/h can be ventilated. And that's a lot, because compare it to the 260 m3/u of a standard residential house.
So the project succeeded. EDGE Amsterdam West has become an office building of and for the future. With a WELL Platinum and BREEAM Outstanding certificate in its pocket, this project will be a leader in sustainable and conscious building.
