Uninterrupted view thanks to new ultra-slim sliding suite technology

Our contemporary architecture is characterized by many and large windows. After all, these must provide the necessary light and pleasant warmth in a house, apartment or other project.

The Ultraglide ML makes it possible to achieve a fully open 90° angle, without a support post. An optional flat sill ensures a perfect transition between interior and exterior, with no visible aluminum sill.

Aliplast, a specialist in aluminum systems for indoor and outdoor applications, has been developing and producing high-quality solutions for curtain walls, windows, doors, conservatories and sliding systems for almost 35 years. Innovation is one of its main strengths. With the two new sliding door systems Visoglide500 Max Light (VG500 ML) and Ultraglide Max Light (UG ML), the company is today responding to the trend for solutions with the slimmest possible profiles - all under the motto "for the love of light.

Aliplast Aluminium Systems, founded in 1984, has in recent years become one of the market leaders in the development and production of aluminum systems for windows, doors, conservatories, sliding systems and curtain walls. From its production in Lokeren (Belgium), the company delivers finished profiles to manufacturers in Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Portugal, Scandinavia, as well as to partners in several African countries.

"Everything is done under one roof and that has its advantages. For example, we have control over the production process and the quality of our products. Moreover, we can perfectly coordinate the various departments and keep a close eye on the costs of the production process," says sales manager for the Netherlands Marc Mulders. "We also have a large R&D department that is continuously working on the development of innovative systems and the optimization of the existing range. They work closely with our project advisors and the architects to quickly anticipate market demands."

Visoglide500 (VG500) and Ultraglide (UG) are Aliplast's main sliding window systems. The VG500 meets all current requirements in terms of sash weight (max. 250 kg), sash height (max. 3 m) and glass thickness (up to 36 mm), while the UG is the solution for larger formats with a sash weight of up to 400 kg, a sash height of up to 3.5 m and a glass thickness of up to 53 mm. In recent years, however, the demand for windows, doors and sliding systems with extremely slim profiles has increased dramatically. However, existing systems with a minimalist design weigh heavily on the budget, which is why Aliplast developed its own solution, which is feasible for a wider audience. The elegant and ultra-slim Max Light range was immediately one of the eye-catchers at trade fairs such as Batibouw.

"We also apply this technology for (lift) sliding door systems with the VG500 and UG Max Light, or ML for short," Marc Mulders continues. "While the center pillar of the VG500 version is 83 mm wide and that of the UG even 125 mm wide, the new ML versions are equipped with a center pillar only 45 mm wide, allowing for a practically uninterrupted view and greater light penetration. An optional flat sill ensures a perfect transition between interior and exterior, with no visible aluminum sill. And with the Ultraglide ML, it is possible to achieve a fully open 90° angle, without a support post."

Thanks to these new developments, Aliplast now offers a complete "slim series. The customer can now integrate windows, doors and sliding systems with the same extremely slim profiles in a house, apartment or other building, creating a uniform whole.
