Good insulation ensures a pleasant and comfortable home and lower energy bills. Yet 3 out of 4 homes in the Netherlands are still not properly insulated. Doors play an important role in insulation. Until July 1, 2019, you can replace doors with tax benefits.
Minimum investment
A door is just a door until drafts lurk. In large-scale renovations to NOM, at least a 54 mm thick door is used. The BENG requirement is also clear for new construction. However, the contrast with regular home maintenance or upgrade to energy label B is stark. In many cases when doors are replaced, whether it is the front door, garden door or balcony door, a 38mm thin door is replaced. A more insulating 54mm door draws much less and also performs better in terms of burglary and sound insulation. It makes the house a lot more pleasant and comfortable for the occupants. This will also lead to a reduction in complaints. Moreover, with minimal investment, the long-term goal of insulating homes all properly is met.
Fiscally beneficial
You can invest in making social housing more sustainable with tax benefits until July 1. By improving the energy performance by at least 3 steps on the Energy Index, you benefit from a tax advantage. The new tax credit for sustainability is part of the measures in the 2019 Tax Plan. You can read more information in the Chamber letter closing RVV Sustainability.
Recognizability
Sure the door will comply? Then choose a GND door. Doors from GND member manufacturers can be recognized by the guarantee and security label on the hanging side of the door. This makes it easy to check the origin and performance in terms of sound, fire, smoke and burglary resistance of the door and frame.
