Sustainability is the code word

Many companies and brands today praise their own merits on climate protection, but few have already implemented effective and proven solutions to reduce their carbon footprint. Hydro not only thinks sustainably, but also acts sustainably. Witness to this is the new manufacturing technology Hydro CIRCAL 75R, an alloy composed of at least 75 % post-consumed recycled aluminum.

Parent company Hydro has two European production facilities, respectively in Dormhagen (Germany) and Clervaux (Luxembourg), which re-circulate fragmented, sorted and processed post-consumer scrap metal from the construction industry, thanks to its scientifically based process. This enables high-quality alloy with high purity. The various steps in aluminum recycling are certified by the Norwegian label DNV-GL.

Infinite aluminum by WICONA

CIRCAL 75R technology is applied to the WICTEC 50 and 60 curtain wall products and to the WICLINE 75 MAX and WICLINE 115 AFS window systems. In addition, WICONA offers a dozen solutions certified with the "Cradle-to-Cradle silver" label. The criteria for this include the use of recycled products made from materials that are not harmful to health, produced with renewable energy and whose principle is zero pollution. At Polycose, the brand will present the WICSTYLE 75 HD door with a profile depth of 75 mm and the WICTEC 50 EL element façade with excellent thermal insulation, modular construction and minimal appearance. Another new product is the unique WICLINE 75 MAX window system with a construction depth of 75 mm and an excellent Uw value of up to 0.81 W/(m²K).

This system is further equipped with a handle completely built into the profile, an innovative design concept that has already won an IF Design Award and a Red Dot Design Award. In addition, this WICLINE 75 MAX has a very thin and uniform center post with concealed opening and hidden hardware to meet the demand of architects and entrepreneurs who want a slim facade appearance. Finally, WICONA introduces WICSLIDE 150 PS, a hybrid solution, which seals and opens the window like a sliding window while guaranteeing surprising performance in terms of insulation.

Sapa and sustainability are one

The Sapa brand is also a pioneer in versatile total solutions. At Polyclose, visitors can learn, among other things, about the window Avantis Smartline 75 SHI, a thermally improved insulation system with three chambers and a construction depth of 75 mm. The Ligna series is available in three different designs: Ligna, Ligna Industrial and Ligna Flat. Furthermore, Sapa also presents the high-quality aluminum sash window Confort Smartline XS, which is one of the narrowest sash windows of its kind thanks to a narrowed face width of only 36 mm. The Artline open corner in combination with the
Panovista Max by Renson will be a real eye-catcher, creating light and space thanks to its minimalist design. Artline is a thermally broken sliding system with a slim appearance of the center post from only 26 mm'. This sliding window is ideally suited for large glass (sliding) walls, up to a height of as much as 4.5 meters.

The window of the future: the connected climate window

The CLIMAL climate window prototype is evolving toward connectivity. This innovative study project heats and cools the ambient air of a living room while also purifying the air. Program the temperature at the end of the day so you come home to a pleasantly warm house after work? Cooling your living room on a hot day? Monitor indoor air quality? The connected climatic window can be controlled remotely with a smartphone via a dedicated app, voice command or remote control. This allows the user to control the temperature and ensure indoor air quality. This self-regulating smart window is programmable and can be connected to a building's centralized management system.
