Save time and money with a fast, easy and safe balustrade system

Glass balustrade systems are gaining tremendous popularity. The assembly of such systems still sometimes causes headaches for assemblers. Issues such as safety, speed of assembly and adjustment of the glass panels sometimes cause problems. Fortunately, there is now a good solution to these problems.

Bohle Benelux BV has developed in-house the brand new VetroMount balustrade system. A system that can be assembled quickly, easily and safely, saving time and money. Frank Bouwman, General Manager at Bohle Benelux BV, talks about VetroMount.

Convenience serves man
"Balustrade systems made of glass provide maximum visibility. Installation should be able to be done both safely and efficiently and save time. Thanks to our new, patented adjustment mechanism, the Bohle VetroMount rail system meets these requirements exactly," Bouwman outlines.

"The mounting is 100% secure and very simple, so cost-effective in installation."  The patented safety mechanism is integrated into complete glass support units, making assembly of individual parts unnecessary. Says Bouwman, "The glass support units are already pre-assembled and come with four mounting elements each."

If the application is used indoors, it creates a high aesthetic value.

After the glass is placed in the U-shaped glass unit, it is securely anchored with two clamping wedges. "It suffices to simply secure the clamping wedges, then the glass panel can be aligned manually, without tools and by only one fitter," Bouwman continues. "Similar to a hinge joint, the glass units move back and forth simultaneously within the profile. Because the adjustment can be performed accurately and efficiently by hand, this saves a lot of work and therefore time, especially with large glass panels."

Safely anchored in one operation
Once the glass plates are aligned, it's the turn of the tension wedges.  These are connected by a tension wedge and can be screwed into the glass unit with one simple step. "Again, no tools are required; the tension wedge is simply pushed by hand onto the mounting side while simultaneously pulling on the pull strap," explains Bouwman. "This tightens the wedge on the drop side. Both tension wedges are locked in place and can be fastened so tightly that the window is securely attached to the profile. Thanks to this tension band principle with locking mechanism, both tension wedges cannot loosen on their own."

Optional cover profile for the finishing touch
With an optional cover profile, available in aluminum color and stainless steel look, Bohle gives the installer the opportunity to achieve maximum optical effect. Bouwman says: "With this cover profile with narrow rubber, optically clear lines are obtained. In addition to aluminum color and stainless steel-look, other colors are available upon request. VeroMount comes in both top and side mounting. An optional cover cap, which can be supplemented with end caps for visible finishing, further emphasizes the interplay of lines. These cover caps are also available in aluminum color and stainless steel look."

Concrete screws prevent the use of spreader anchors
In conclusion, Bouwman outlines the advantage in assembly: "There are due to the large distance between the drill holes - 400 mm when top mounted -  little drilling required. Installation with simple concrete screws is sufficient. This avoids the use of spreader anchors and the associated cleaning of the drill holes, as well as tightening and maintaining the tightening torque. Because no concrete anchors need to be hammered, the profile is also less likely to suffer damage."
