Smart product solutions, maximum customer support, and long-term value creation
Building Smart Together. That is BUVA's strategy, which will be prominently featured during Polyclose. At stand 1640, visitors can discover the latest innovations in sills, hinges and locks, ventilation grilles, and toughened glass windows. In addition, considerable attention will be paid to the opportunities offered by digitization. This extends BUVA's one-stop-shop concept to its services.

About two years ago, BUVA recalibrated its strategy with the aim of making construction more efficient, safer, and more sustainable. “Since then, our focus has been on different target groups, with the renewed proposition focusing on smart construction, sustainable innovations, customer focus, and increasing continuity within the organization,” says Niels Marijnissen, Sales Manager Industry & Construction at BUVA. “But also on the development side of our product portfolio. We have our own R&D department, our own production machines, and our own testing facility, where we conduct wind and watertightness tests, for example. We work closely with our customers on this, but also with system houses, with the aim of achieving the very best wind and watertightness performance. And with success, because together we achieve unparalleled values. For example, with regard to our sills.”
“Our glass fiber reinforced sills have excelled in terms of durability, stability, and insulation value for many years and will also be showcased at Polyclose,” says Tom Knijn, Lead Account Manager at BUVA. “With our latest sustainable threshold for the plastic window frame industry, we are now adding more sustainable production based on natural materials such as flax fibers and bio-resin.” Marijnissen: “During growth, flax fibers and bio-resin absorb CO2, which largely offsets the emissions from the production process. Combined with production at a CO2-neutral location, this creates a sustainable alternative to traditional sills. Naturally, without compromising on the unique properties that people expect from our sills, such as stability, rigidity, and the quality standards that are also achieved with regular glass fiber-reinforced sills.” The first deliveries of the sustainably produced sills are planned for 2026, he says. “Visitors to Polyclose will be able to see the first samples.”

Another interesting aspect in terms of sustainability is BUVA's LogiTime concept, whereby BUVA products are neatly measured, sorted, and delivered in handy roll containers with as little packaging material as possible. The roll containers can then be used directly by the customer in the production line, says Knijn. “Because the products are already pre-sorted, the technicians can start assembly immediately and no valuable time is lost on sorting and unpacking. What's more, waste streams are kept to a minimum.”
For products that still need to be packaged, BUVA always seeks the most sustainable solutions. For example, plastic packaging is reduced to an absolute minimum. In addition, BUVA has been using environmentally friendly grass cardboard for some time now, which results in significant CO2, water, and energy savings. “We are in constant dialogue with our suppliers to take responsibility in this area too,” says Marijnissen. “But also to continuously exceed our customers” sustainability expectations."

In addition to sustainability, BUVA is strongly committed to digitization. “We recently had our first customer order ventilation grilles from us digitally. This is a service that we would also like to make available to other customers,” says Knijn. “EDI orders can easily be transferred to us from the customer's work preparation software in an XML file, after which they are immediately processed in our system. This is an efficient method that prevents errors caused by communication noise and also saves a lot of time. We will be happy to tell you more about this during Polyclose, as well as about our BarTrack solution with QR codes for smarter ordering of hinges and locks and sophisticated stock management.” Marijnissen: “In 2026, we will also be introducing a new threshold configurator for the digital ordering of bottom thresholds, with the aim of working with our customers to achieve efficient processes and minimize noise and failure costs. This allows us to respond optimally to customer wishes, both now and in the future.”
