He is the "benjamin" of the company, judging by the date he joined. However, in terms of knowledge and skills Herben Heino is anything but a newcomer. Venster Techniek from Zelhem has gained a valuable asset who, as account manager, has been focusing on solutions for wooden window frames since February 1. Herben says: "You will find me mainly in the field with a focus on the carpentry industry. Colleague Thomas de Jong now focuses more on solutions for plastic window frames." Herben is fluent in the language of the carpentry industry. "The difference between industry for wooden window frames and that for plastic window frames is that with wood the detailing is more diverse. This calls for more flexibility and therefore for flexible solutions. Innovative as we are, we therefore think along with our customers."
One of the innovations from the quiver of Window Technology is an upgrade of the Easy Ent Flex Door program, EEFD for short. "There was already a normal and a plus version, with the latter already partially manufactured from fiberglass. However, the upgraded sill will be 100% in fiberglass and will bear the name VTD."
Originally, there was a multitude of different caps used to build a sill. That becomes different in the upgrade.
Herben: "We are going to work with a system where more different rebate depths can be realized with fewer types of caps. It is a nice response to the transition to triple glazing for wooden window frames. Today's performance requirements call for thicker glass, and that entails different detailing than we are used to. By being at the forefront of sill solutions, we become an added value to the manufacturer."
A well-known carpentry manufacturer is already poised to pilot the latest VTD sill. "The designs are ready and this manufacturer, who is a good relation of mine, has full confidence in us. On the joinery side, they are investing in a new machine, with new tools, which will allow new detailing. That is the perfect time to start with our VTD sill. Quite a changeover, in other words. The necessary investments have also been made on the Window Technique side in the optimization process. We have also purchased a new machine, which has yet to be delivered. We have also invested in additional personnel, I myself am living proof of that. The ordering system has also been optimized and is now linked to production."
The new VTD sill is not only flexibly applicable to various detailing, but also delivers improved insulation value. These are points with which to score. What other news is there to report?
Herben replies, "We are in the process of developing new fasteners for sills, for both wood and plastic. This allows our customer to make an optimization step in its own production. Venster Techniek offers the customer four assurances, namely: customer-specific solutions, delivered on time, optimally geared to the customer's production and assembly process and innovative solutions for optimal living enjoyment."
