Even when it gets colder outside, the patio continues to attract us. After all, it is nice and comfortable under a patio heater behind a glass wall that is also wind and watertight.
"Our customers? Those are retailers, mostly greenhouse builders who specialize in greenhouse and conservatory construction and windows and doors. We only supply dealers, not the private market." So says Lucas Bouwers, manager at Sunparadise Netherlands, part of Sunparadise AG, a Swiss company. This company has been developing and manufacturing balcony windows, outdoor spaces, winter gardens and facades for homes, glass roofs, windows and doors for commercial buildings and marketing them since 1985. Together with colleague Rob Jonkergauw, Lucas is responsible for the Dutch market.
'As much as 95m², that's what can be covered with the Hawaii 40 CUBO, Sunparadise's cubist-shaped patio cover. In practice, this means that this patio cover can be used up to a width of up to 13.6 meters and a depth of 6.9 meters. To achieve this span, the use of a single post is sufficient. The glazing with thicknesses ranging from 8 mm to 42 mm is, like the other canopies, easy to assemble and available in many different colors so that it is adaptable to the interior. Depending on customer requirements, this canopy can be built freestanding, possibly as a roof overhang without annoying uprights obstructing the view. Moreover, rainwater is efficiently drained by means of the invisibly integrated gutters and downspouts. Cable channels, finally, allow LED lighting to be appropriately incorporated into the design.
Sunparadise recently expanded its product range with the PRIME, a high-quality patio roof that is capable of accommodating large spans, without any annoying support in free space. Lucas: "Glazing is available up to 33 mm thick, many different profiles can be used and this roof can be built on at an inclination of 5° to 45°. Gutters and downspouts can be invisibly incorporated and LED lighting can be nicely integrated through the built-in cable channels."
"Last but certainly not least, I like to mention the GSS17 sliding and stacking hard glass wall, which, with sash sizes ranging from 900 to 2,700 mm, is a serious player as the youngest member of the range. With as many as eight retractable sashes, the entire wall can be turned into a small sash package. This is because, in addition to top and bottom guidance in a narrow aluminum profile, the wings can all be rotated up to 90° in one station," Lucas explains.
"This hard glass folding system can be parked on either the left or right side, allowing a total opening of the veranda. The GSS17 is applicable to balconies and veranda roofs, often in combination with patio cover CUBO."
