The Hahn VL-band G is the first door hinge in the Hahn VL system that is held securely in place with clamping blocks; drilling or milling the sash profile is no longer necessary. The hinge disappears completely into the frame profile. No milling is required on the sash side, which speeds up processing in the workshop, as only the frame needs to be machined.
As with the classic clamping band, the Euronut and 16 mm grooves are used. The version for the 16 mm groove is clamped on the frame side and attached to the sash with four self-tapping screws.
When two hinges are used, the concealed hinge can support sash weights of up to 120 kg. This makes the hinge suitable for the most common sash weights in private residential construction. Profile systems with construction depths from 60 mm and profile widths of 40 mm offer sufficient space to install the hinge on the inside.
Dr. Hahn has made it possible to install and remove the wing using standard tools – it quickly snaps into place with a simple swing.
Two high-quality hinges enable precise and easy alignment directly on the mounted door leaf. Large adjustment ranges of +3.5 mm and –3.5 mm in height and +3.6 mm / –3.6 mm in the horizontal direction are available. The pressure can also be adjusted by +0.3 mm / –0.3 mm.
The hinge is suitable for left- and right-turning doors and for inward- and outward-turning doors. With an opening angle of max. 110°, an opening limiter must be provided, depending on the installation situation, even with a smaller opening angle.
Dr. Hahn expects that his VL-band G will mainly be used in high-end private construction projects. To ensure that it can be installed in fire-resistant, smoke-resistant, and escape route doors, CE certification in accordance with EN 1935:2002 is currently in preparation.
Clamp solutions for door hinges are a commonly used fastening method in the Benelux. With its new Hahn Klemmband AT, German door hinge specialist Dr. Hahn is showcasing its current series at Polyclose.
In addition to the particularly slim 18 mm knob, the new solutions impress with their excellent load-bearing capacity: depending on the profile design, the 2-part version can move door leaves weighing up to 120 kg. The 3-part version can even handle 150 kg. The manufacturer offers both series for the Euronut and for the 16 mm groove. Doors can be aligned horizontally on the built-in wing between + 1.5 mm and – 1.5 mm. The height can be adjusted continuously between +2.5 mm and –2.5 mm. The sealing pressure can be changed by turning the bearing bushing by +0.3 mm and –0.3 mm.
Another special feature is the geometry of the clamping block. It fits in any desired position in the built-in profile. The drop-in solution greatly simplifies the processing of the hinges compared to solutions where the clamping block must be inserted in advance.
Within the framework of CE certification according to EN 1935:2002, the AT clamping band meets the criteria for band class 13. These are available in anodized shades, RAL colors, Hahn Trinox, and other special colors.
