New product combination from Kawneer and Renson step further toward quality assurance

Total solution of durable frame system with integrated top grille scores high on water and wind tightness

At Kawneer's Test & Training Center in Harderwijk, Kawneer's RT 72 Reflex window system in combination with Renson's Invisivent NL window ventilation grille was extensively tested by SKG-IKOB. The total solution of durable window frame with top grille scored high on wind and water tightness in those official and independent tests. "A first step in the right direction for a combined quality guarantee," both suppliers say. This quality guarantee meets the market's desire to reduce potential leaks from window frames in combination with ventilation grilles.

Both the RT 72 Reflex and the Invisivent NL have already been tested separately. The fact that they have now also been tested as a whole is unique and an important step forward. It shows that the combination of frame and grille forms a wind and watertight whole. This prevents a water and/or air leak between frame and ventilation grille on the building site, thereby reducing potential failure costs.

High test score
The combination of both products scored class E1200 according to the European EN 12208 standard in terms of water tightness (waterproof in closed position up to 1200Pa). In terms of airtightness, the combination achieved air permeability class 3 according to the EN 12207 standard. The independent Dutch test institute SKG-IKOB, as Notified Body, was present at the tests to verify that they were carried out correctly and according to the standard. This provides an independent quality guarantee, which can be presented to the customers of both suppliers.

Kawneer RT 72 Reflex window frame system
Kawneer's RT 72 Reflex aluminum window profiles are thermally broken and equipped with a special patented coating that provides enhanced insulation. The aesthetic profile has a depth of only 72 mm. Thanks to the slim window styles, this allows one to take full advantage of the incoming daylight, which contributes to a healthy living and living environment. "Kawneer's RT 72 Reflex system is modularly designed and Renson's Invisivent ventilation grille fits in seamlessly with it. Together they are mounted against the structural frame as one system - just like a 'normal' window - without any additional work," said Rob Huvers, Business Developer Residential Construction at Kawneer.

Renson Invisivent NL window ventilation grille
The Invisivent NL is a ventilation grille adapted to the construction method of Dutch window frames, which are placed from the outside against a wooden frame in the facade. The rubber seal from the flange of the frame extends nicely into the flange of the grille, providing a wind and watertight whole. "Renson is fully aiming at the Dutch market with this Dutch variant of its classic Invisivent window grille. We therefore attach great importance to the results from these tests. That gives us the opportunity to work out a combined quality guarantee for contractors and frame and facade builders who have to install the total solution," says Rien Laverge, Business Development Manager at Renson.
