New owner fully committed to continued expansion and optimization of operations

A fly screen window or door ensures a continuous supply of fresh outside air. Bijttebier-Dekeyser of Spiere specializes in the production of fly screens, screen doors and sliding screen doors with its own developed system. To ensure continuity for the future, the company was recently taken over by Marc Vervisch, the former owner of Copaco Screenweavers. As of January 1, 2020, the company will also officially have a new name: BD Systems.

Brothers Carl and Kurt Bijttebier continued their father's life's work for many years. With a system they developed themselves, they produced fixed insect screens, opening insect screens, sliding insect screens, roll-up insect screens and pleated insect screens with the greatest care. These are supplied exclusively to professional customers in the Belgian market, such as window and door manufacturers, joiners, sunshade specialists and roller shutters.

"A fly window or door allows people to enjoy the fresh air outside during the day and night. Our fly screens are manufactured in high-quality material, making them wear-free for many years. We make different profiles for fly windows and doors, so we can always offer the most suitable solution," says new owner Marc Vervisch.

With a system developed in-house, BD Systems produces fixed screens with the utmost care,
opening screen doors, sliding screen doors, roll-up screen doors and pleated screen doors.

"The Bijttebier brothers were real 'doers' who built a healthy company with strong proprietary products. The intention is to further expand this company, increase brand awareness and further strengthen the position on the Belgian market. Thanks to an experience in the industry of more than 25 years, I am ready for this new challenge. With my previous company Copaco Screenweavers, which was acquired by Hunter Douglas in the spring, I was a supplier of cloths for companies such as Bijttebier-Dekeyser. Today I am trading an internationally focused firm with about one hundred and fifty employees for an organization with fifteen people and a focus on the Belgian market."

Optimize operational operation

To ensure the continued growth of the company, significant investments are being made in the optimization of operational functioning with the aim of further improving product and service quality and reducing delivery times.

"Working closely with a number of external partners, we are making many efforts to improve IT infrastructure, procedures and the production process to increase efficiency and productivity," Vervisch stated.

"In addition, the firm will be renamed BD Systems starting in early 2020. This name is more powerful than the current Bijttebier-Dekeyser, but still retains the initials from the past. After all, that name has been used internally for some time. Our entire communication will therefore be geared to this name change, including at Polyclose."
