Whoever says machining, welding, angle machining or polishing, says KRUBA. Cees van Essen and his team supply everything in the field of machining machinery that the processor of wood, aluminum and plastic could wish for. KRUBA's expertise is gladly used by the company to bring the customer to an optimized way of working. It is a fact that the machines supplied by KRUBA connect seamlessly with the most widely used ERP software. Cees van Essen likes to put three powerful machining centers in the spotlight.
"The Thorwesten PBZ 4 is an all-round machine that provides instant optimization in the workshop," Cees opens the conversation. "All steps of profile machining take place in one pass. Milling, drilling and screwing. The heart of the system is the rotating ring with the milling and drilling aggregates, which can be freely programmably positioned so that the scanned profile goes through all working steps accurately and is fully machined."
The PBZ is a universal machining center and is very structured in design. "You need relatively little space for it and it's easy to maintain," Cees outlines. "Also, the machine is easily accessible all around. In productive use, it is only necessary to identify the profile via the scanner and attach it after placement. The Full HD control panel contains very user-friendly menus, which are graphically clearly displayed. Naturally in the native language."
The PBZ 4 is suitable for machining all common profile cross-sections and profile lengths. "If necessary, our employees program new profiles or profile systems into the control, remotely. This is because the machine is 'connected'. So we provide remote support right into the heart of the machine."
Machining and drilling patterns are stored in the machine control system. Also, the PBZ 4 features 3D simulation of machining and drilling patterns and fault diagnosis is performed through a graphical detail display.
"The advantages are many. Work can be done quickly and accurately, in a flexible manner. The machine is also available with an external screw unit for higher production capacity and can be coupled with an automatic sawing center for plastic and for steel reinforcement."
Those who want to machine profiles fully automatically in one cycle can look to the KRUBA HVL machining centers. "Type 4024/2-HVL offers the possibility of fully automatic machining of 4 profiles in one cycle. Type 6024/4-HVL can machine 8 profiles in one cycle, or in alternating operation 2 x 4 profiles. Pure time savings, therefore," Cees explains. "Both machines are built for machining both 90˚ and 45˚ cut profiles for HVL joints with or without end caps. The 4024/2-HVL and the 6024/4-HVL offer the capability for milling straight-on-slant joints (including Cube, Retro, BloX), milling intermediate posts, milling behind the seal and free-milling fiberglass reinforced profiles. On both machines, CNC control includes interpolation. The 4024/2-HVL is also suitable for machining the 'double-HVL' joint which means that the HVL joint is present both on the outside and on the inside."
The Alustar production line consisting of the CNC sawing unit below Optima ALU and the 3-axis machining center ALU, housed in a protective booth. "Sawing and machining are done in parallel according to the position of the operations," Cees says. "The Rapid Alustar is highly flexible and universally applicable for sawing and machining aluminum profiles. State-of-the-art control technology combined with reliable RAPID machine technology ensures maximum cost-effectiveness and user-friendliness."
The Rapid Alustar is equipped with a touchscreen with Windows as the operating system. The 3-axis machining center ALU features arranged drilling and milling aggregates. Cees: "Furthermore, this machine is equipped with 16 freely selectable tools and a saw automatic ALU with a 550 mm saw blade. The feed magazine can hold 7 profiles."
Furthermore, the transport gripper has an integrated gripper, which can be rotated 90°. The saw module is equipped with a pneumatic spray system. "Also standard: a material feed magazine up to 6500 mm, optionally up to 7000 mm. The sawing unit can process curtain wall profiles, sawing optimization is done through residual piece handling and length measuring device," Cees further lists.
"Also, the machine features tool breakage control. The positioning speed of the profile is up to 2 m/sec.2 and the profile transport speed is up to 9 m/per sec2, with a repeat accuracy of approximately 0.1 mm." Also present on the Rapid Alustar: dewatering and aeration holes or slots, crank holes and cylinder holes with different throughput sizes, lock cases, pre-drilled holes or markings for the purpose of striker plates, mounting holes and fixing holes for the purpose of intermediate posts.
Those who are ready for optimization in the workshop and want to work more efficiently and economically should definitely talk to KRUBA. "Working more efficiently and economically means, by definition, working more sustainably. And in these times of staff shortages, it is of course wonderful to be able to produce more with your machinery, with fewer people," Cees concludes.
