FROM FALL NEW EFFICIENT PRODUCTION LINE ON THE MARKET.
Right now, the prototype is literally being built, and if things go well, the new MPZ-DUAL will be able to go into service in the second half of 2025. And that offers opportunities! Niels and Cees van Essen of the company Kruba from Baarn are looking forward to the launch of this combination saw and machining center at manufacturer Thorwesten. This already existed by the way but ... now two CNC machine tools can be linked to one sawing machine. Dual, in other words.
"It looks good," says the pair. "It's simple: with this MPZ-DUAL, you can produce more with fewer people. So you can greatly increase efficiency and your own production capacity. Moreover, if you need even more capacity in the future, you can even connect a third CNC machine tool to this production line. So it doesn't have to be just two machining centers."
Niels and Cees say that with this MPZ-DUAL, in a normal work week, a production of 400 full average Dutch window frames can be achieved. "One employee operates the saws for the steel and PVC profiles. And the other employee operates the processing machines. In the process, he can immediately mount the locking plates on the profiles. We said it before: a lot of efficiency."
Kruba expects a lot of interest in this MPZ-DUAL. "The times are right for it," they say. "Right now you hear a lot of complaining in the industry about the labor shortage. Companies are running out of places to get new (technical) employees. We hear it almost every day. It has been an additional driver - we think - for continuing to develop the existing machines. We have recently sparred a lot about this with the machine manufacturer Thorwesten. And that has resulted in this further innovation. We are very happy with it because, to be perfectly honest, we do not think that the labor market situation will change much in the coming years. The demand for technical personnel remains high, but there are simply no people."
When exactly the MPZ-DUAL can go on sale, Cees and Niels do not yet know. "But we do expect that as early as this fall - with interested customers - we will be able to go for a viewing at the factory or perhaps already at a first delivery in Germany. Readers of Profile can just contact us to make that appointment. And then we will drive to Germany."
When asked if the MPZ-DUAL is a big investment to be made, Niels says, "Of course it is an investment. But, I also say: it is a small expense in comparison because you always have to weigh it against the return: more production. More efficiency. And fewer employees you need to operate the machines. I am convinced that this must sound at least as "very interesting" to the ears of every entrepreneur in the plastic window frame industry. And this is precisely why we say, "To govern is to foresee. The MPZ-DUAL is not only high quality - it could hardly be otherwise if it was manufactured by Thorwesten - but also solves a number of challenges that entrepreneurs in manufacturing companies are looking for more than ever."
