On the initiative of NBvT Section Window Frames, the 2021 Information Delivery Specification (ILS) Wooden Window Frames has been further developed to version 2. This was officially launched recently at the Kozijnendag in Enschede.
Collaboration works better when the information on which designer, builder and supplier interact is exchangeable, structured, unambiguous, correct, complete and reusable. The BIM Basic Information Delivery Specification (ILS) has been developed for this purpose for numerous building components. The experiences and feedback from the first ILS Wooden Frames have been incorporated to further facilitate its use for the supplying (designing) parties.
In ILS version 2, it is now also possible to supply the frame as separate parts, with the same identifier. Also, the production model can now be extracted from ILS. With the new version, a user/customer (for example, a construction company) has a better understanding of what information to supply, so that the frame supplier can produce as efficiently as possible.
The BIM base ILS is managed by digiGO BIM Loket in the Netherlands and is used by many designing and building parties both in the Netherlands and internationally. ■
