Half a million doors with GND warranty label

GND is setting a new record this year. The door manufacturers affiliated with GND have sold half a million doors with the new GND guarantee label since its introduction. Thanks to this label, buyers and sellers are assured of a quality door whose fire, smoke, sound and burglary resistance are easily recognizable.

The QR code allows the door's performance to be read directly.

"The time was ripe for the new GND warranty label," says Henk Breel, director of GND. "Not so long ago, burglar and fire resistance were the only visible performance of a door. But the number of requirements is increasing. For example, the new, 'real' smoke resistance will soon be included in legislation. Such performance is difficult to verify with the naked eye. So there was a need for an assurance label. Since its introduction in 2016, half a million doors have been delivered with the GND assurance label."

QR code
To quickly read what the GND-labeled door meets, the label has a QR code. By scanning the QR code on the label, the owner or inspector gains immediate insight into the door's fire, smoke, sound and burglar resistance. The user can also download the GND door scanner app or take a picture of the QR code with state-of-the-art phones, then see the performance of the interior or exterior wooden door at a glance."

Value proven
Breel finds that the security is greatly appreciated. The additional data - such as the name of the manufacturer and the production number of the door - enable direct communication with the supplier. Meanwhile, the QR code is already scanned more than 700 times per month, and the graphs show a strong increase especially in the last six months.

"Users report that during recordings, with one simple action - they can find out the performance of the door and therefore assess a door more easily and quickly."
