Sandwich element with aluminum cladding maintains climate in porch or under patio roof

Stadur Produktions GmbH & Co. KG has specialized in the production and sale of sandwich elements for more than 30 years. With Stadur Top Autoportant, they offer a sandwich element covered on both sides with aluminum, ideal for use in verandas and patio roofs. The result is a pleasant indoor climate at all times, both summer and winter.

Whatever the application, at Stadur they always have a suitable sandwich element in the range. After all, they keep investing in the development of new solutions and the optimization of their existing products. The Stadur Top Autoportant is a great example of this.

Incarceration during the COVID period has changed our way of thinking more than ever. We all now want to spend as much time as possible outside, without having to travel far. Outdoor living in our own gardens. Of course, we have to take nature's whims into account, and so there was massive investment in verandas and patio covers. Just like inside the home, we need to make sure in these additional living spaces that it does not get too hot, but also not too cold.

"With our Stadur Top Autoportant, veranda builders and patio cover installers can avoid the problem of overheating on hot days and that of freezing in the winter months. This sandwich element consists of an extruded Polystyrene core, covered on both sides with a 0.72 mm aluminum finish layer. It guarantees good thermal insulation, while greatly reducing the sound of raindrops on the roof. This product is available from stock in RAL 9010, RAL 7024 and RAL 8004, but other colors are also available on request. This panel is supplied in lengths between 2000 and 7000 mm at widths of 980 and 1200 mm. Thanks to grooves milled out on both sides and our specially developed connection profiles, these sandwich elements can also be used for wider constructions," says sales manager Tyson Ender. 

"Like our other sandwich elements, this Top Autoportant is UV-resistant and absorbs almost no water. The panels are also light, which improves handling. The material can be easily machined and cut to size with a cutter or metal tool."

Look to Tomorrow

At Stadur, they are looking ahead to be ready for the challenges of today and tomorrow. To continue to ensure high quality, increase capacity and address the shortage of technically skilled workers, new machinery was installed and automation was also undertaken where it made sense. "Attention was also paid to the topic of sustainability. For example, we installed a total of 1,300 solar panels and generate about 30 % of the electricity consumed at the Hammah plant itself. Furthermore, the offcuts from the sandwich panels are pressed into briquettes and sold as a source of energy," Ender continued. 

"And, of course, the drive for innovation is in our DNA. Last year, for example, we introduced a new version of the proven sandwich elements FrameTec and ProfileTec. These replace the StadurFoam at the core with recycled PET material. These elements are significantly "greener" and the carbon footprint during production is even lower. In addition, they are more than 60 % lighter and also more economical than the standard version. The previous edition of this magazine focused on SKS, a panel consisting of an extruded polystyrene core without a top layer, but with a self-adhesive film on one or both sides. Thanks to the very high adhesive strength, it is possible to apply almost all possible decors to the foam. This provides unprecedented 'freedom of movement' to provide the right solution for all possible projects."
