In addition, the company has a skilled installation team, which contractors are happy to support in their foundation work. "Screw foundations are gaining considerable recognition," says Camile Gisbers, Sales Manager at Snelfundderen BV.
"Not surprisingly, because they are suitable for countless applications. Think, for example, of modular homes, Tiny Houses, street and park furniture, fencing and gates, but also of wooden and aluminum patio covers, pergolas, gazebos, terraces, verandas and decking, where the screw foundations guarantee a fast, cost-efficient, sustainable and solid foundation."
Under the brand name FIRST BASE Ground Screws, Snelfunderen BV sells screw foundations in diameters from ø 63 mm, suitable for light playground equipment and small pergolas. For larger loads, the company supplies diameters of ø 76, 89, 114 and even ø 140 mm, in wall thicknesses from 2 to 5.6 mm.
"Contractors have a choice of fixed lengths with a bottle plate or extendable systems, where the screw foundations can be modularly coupled to exactly the desired depth," Gisbers says.
"Even with the short screws (100 cm), frost-free installation and optimum stability are already ensured."
For the assembly of the screw foundations, Snelfunderen BV supplies a range of machines, from gasoline-powered to power and air-powered (pneumatic) machines. "In addition, we have two types of tracked vehicles, with which we can deliver torsional forces of up to as much as 12,000 Nm. The machines are manufactured in close cooperation with our German and Italian manufacturers and they meet all relevant standards."
Snelfunderen BV also has an in-house engineering department. When the probing reports are available, the engineers can combine them with the maximum pile loads. "This allows us to calculate exactly what diameter and length of screw foundations are required at which location, to ensure a solid foundation," Gisbers said. "The bearing capacity calculations are processed in a report, in accordance with the official Eurocodes. On this basis, the permit process and planning can be completed without any problems, without costly compression or tensile tests."
Unlike concrete piles, for example, with screw foundations, excavating the foundation, placing foundation tiles and filling with (quick) concrete and water are not an issue, Gisbers said.
"The screw foundations can be assembled immediately, saving valuable labor time as well as drying time. After installing the screw foundations, construction can begin immediately."
FIRST BASE steel screw foundations are also hot-dip galvanized, ensuring high stability and long service life, up to more than 50 years.
"Even with the rather simple screw foundations and small diameters, considerable loads can be absorbed, which is why the screw foundations have a wide range of applications. If required, the screw foundations can also be easily removed again, without leaving material residues in the soil. It is even possible to reuse the screws elsewhere. In this way, we are perfectly in line with today's desire for circular construction."
