Retrospective Polyclose 2026

22nd edition confirms Polyclose as a firm appointment for the industry

From Wednesday, January 14 to Friday, January 16, the 22nd edition of Polyclose, the trade fair for window, door, sun protection, façade and access technology, took place at Flanders Expo Ghent. A total of 10,885 qualitative and targeted professional visitors visited the exhibition floor. 21% of them came from the Netherlands, confirming Polyclose's enduring appeal within the Benelux.

With more than 200 exhibitors, Polyclose once again offered a broad and representative overview of products, systems and solutions for the building envelope. For many professionals, the fair remained the moment to discover innovations, strengthen existing relationships and make new contacts within a familiar and efficient exhibition context.

Innovation and practice remain central

As in previous editions, the focus was on concrete applications and market-ready innovations. Visitors found on the exhibition floor a wide range of solutions around sun protection, facade systems, windows and doors, access technology, insulation, ventilation and accessories. Software, machinery and supporting technologies for the sector were also widely represented.

Four focal themes clearly ran throughout the exhibition offerings. Solutions to combat overheating were featured prominently, including fabric sun protection, smart façade systems and automated control to ensure indoor comfort. At the same time, acoustic comfort received increasing attention, with applications such as acoustic glass, sound-absorbing facade insulation and quiet ventilation solutions.

Sustainability and circularity also featured prominently, with innovative insulation materials, modular construction, reuse of raw materials and a strong focus on longevity and maintenance. In addition, it became clear how digitalization and smart façade solutions are becoming increasingly integrated into the building envelope, through smart access control, energy management, automation and monitoring on the façade side. Manufacturers and system suppliers were thus responding to the increasing demands around performance, regulation and installation quality, both in new construction and renovation.

International meeting place

Polyclose also confirmed its role as an international meeting place for the sector in 2026. In addition to Belgian visitors, the fair once again attracted a significant number of professionals from the Netherlands, supplemented by visitors and exhibitors from other European countries. This international mix remains an important added value for knowledge exchange and business contacts.

PolycloseSummit as an additional floor

New during this edition was the PolycloseSummit, an additional content program on the show floor with Academy, Talks, Previews and Labs, intended to provide additional depth beyond the exhibition visit.

Within this program, the daily PolycloseAcademy in particular could count on strong interest. In the master class ‘The 10 carpentry trends towards 2030’, Prof. Nathan Van Den Bossche (UGent) gave a practical insight into the evolutions that will determine carpentry in the coming years, based on tests, site experience and international practical cases.

In addition, the PolycloseTalks brought together experts on current topics such as solar shading, energy efficiency, circularity and standardization, with contributions from exhibitors and from organizations such as Bouwunie, Embuild, MWA, Pixii and Buildwise.

The Previews and Labs offered additional, approachable explanations of product innovations and technical applications on the show floor.

Outlook

With this 22nd edition, Polyclose confirms its position as a regular biennial appointment for professionals active in window, door, sun protection, façade and access technology. The fair organization is looking forward to the next edition, where the familiar fair formula will be further expanded.
