1930s home upgraded to 21st century standards

Modern, safe and stylish thanks to complete modernization

In 2017, Lianne van Engelen, interior designer and driving force behind Studio Linn, was approached for the complete renovation and remodeling of a 1930s home in Oisterwijk. The owners asked for a home with an authentic look, equipped with all the gadgets of our time. Also in the field of security. For door hardware that not only fitted the atmosphere of the house, but also met the latest security requirements, Studio Linn approached Intersteel for a well-founded advice.

Authentic and modern
The entire house was completely gutted, fitted with new lighting, flooring, double glazing and completely new electrics. The structure of the home also changed. Spaces were transformed and given a new, more appropriate function. Lianne van Engelen explains, "It was important not to lose the authentic atmosphere of the house. Therefore, we combined new, modern materials with original elements, including the interior doors.' At the end of 2018, the construction process was completed and the home delivered.

Stylish and up to date door hardware
Intersteel was approached by Studio Linn to advise on the door hardware of the house in Oisterwijk. Maarten ter Horst of Intersteel says: "The hardware not only had to fit the style of the house, but also meet today's requirements in terms of security. After studying all the floor plans, frame and door details, the chrome/ ebony hardware from the Ton 400 series was chosen by mutual agreement. This was used for both the interior and exterior and meets 100 percent of all current safety requirements.'
