BAU Munich, the world's leading trade fair for architecture, materials and systems, is an excellent stage for FUHR to present its high ambitions in the field of access control systems and locks. So this year, that happened again in the Munich Messe. Following the theme 'FUHR: Solutions that put you a step ahead', the company allowed trade fair visitors to experience various new product concepts live in an inspiring entourage between January 18 and 25.
From different disciplines, FUHR had great news to report in the capital of Bavaria. Among other things, a new version of the panic lock program was presented. With the introduction of the FUHR 837 (P) and 837 (XP) locks with electronically connectable door handles (which can be supplied with an electrical power supply wirelessly by means of induction technology), the company even signed up for an absolute world first. FUHR expects the first projects to be delivered starting in the fourth quarter of 2023.
During the trade fair, FUHR also put the new "Smart Access" concept fully in the spotlight for the first time. This advanced access control system makes it possible to open doors in a simple and controlled way without a key and, if desired, with an app via smartphone. And what is also nice: the smart and user-friendly system is quick and easy to install. "For FUHR this is a good addition to the existing range," says Martijn van Dort, director of FUHR Benelux, which operates from Ede. "We are leading the way in the market with this."
The "Smart Access" system is not only available on new locks. All existing FUHR motor-operated locks can also be equipped with the system. Furthermore, no cloud registration or internet connection is required for smooth operation; communication takes place entirely via Bluetooth. Furthermore, it is possible to operate the "SmartTouch" door handle with the technical tour de force, a product which FUHR recently also started supplying in the color matte black.
"The launch of the 'Smart Access' system, in combination with the app available via Apple's App Store, is scheduled for early 2024," said Van Dort, who concludes by referring to FUHR's recently completely revamped website. "A medium on which, in addition to general company info, we will continuously report new concept information, product data sheets and various videos."
