Convenience serves man. The same goes for opening and closing doors. It is common knowledge that there are systems on the market that allow you to open a door using a smartphone. The fact that almost every existing door with a EURO cylinder can be equipped with such a system will surprise many people. CertSecurity from Eindhoven specializes in smartlocks and access control.
We speak with Maurice Weernink, account manager at the company, about smart access control that is also within everyone's reach. CertSecurity supplies access control and electronic locking systems based on years of expertise in the field of Internet and network security. Digital security has traditionally been their playing field, and they literally bring the technical aspect of it right to the front door.
"We work with two major and extremely reliable brands of motor locks," Weernink opens the conversation. "First is Danalock, their V3 Smartlock retrofit lock can be used on almost any door with EURO cylinder. By replacing the existing cylinder with a special smartlock cylinder, it becomes possible to click the wirelessly controlled motor on the cylinder. This communicates via Bluetooth with your smartphone or the Danapad, a numeric keypad with numeric code."

Green light, Danalock unlocked the door.
Those who want control of the door from anywhere in the world can add the DanaBridge, a module that interacts with the door lock and communicates with the user via Wi-Fi. "The Danalock V3 can also be integrated into a home automation network, via Z-Wave, Zigbee or Apple Homekit. The access privileges are shareable and can be set as desired, allowing multiple users to be created. This can be arranged via the app or the web portal," Weernink said.
CertSecurity is exclusive distributor for the Benelux of Danalock and Desi, "The latter brand has the smallest, fastest and strongest motor. The system is called Desi Utopic R (rechargeable) and can communicate via Bluetooth and on the 434 MHz channel. Obviously encrypted and with a rolling code, for extra security. With 434 Mhz, longer distances can be covered compared to Bluetooth. As a controller, one uses a handheld transmitter, a keypad or a fingerprint scanner. Of course, the lock can also be opened and closed via a smartphone. Later this year, a battery pack with Wi-Fi bridge will be available. With this, the lock can also be operated remotely, just like Danalock can," says Weernink.
We learn that Danalock fits perfectly into a home automation network and also functions perfectly in a business setting. "Being able to assign and manage digital keys makes this system ideal for offices, institutions and apartment rentals. The advantage of Desi is that the hardware is smaller and stronger and can be linked to the Homey gateway via 434 Mhz," Weernink says in conclusion.
