The latest, high-quality door locking systems can be called downright smart. If there is one place where that is very tellingly expressed, it is in Fuhr Benelux BV's Experience Center. An environment where professionals and end users can get acquainted with leading locking systems.

We speak with Ludo Meeuwsen, director at Fuhr Benelux. "Our showroom is open to anyone who wants to get acquainted with our high-quality locking systems and in particular the motorized locking systems. We are open to everyone such as door industry, contractors, architects, housing associations and end consumers. But dealers can also take advantage of this."

Under the collective name FUHR Smart-Door, doors with motor locks that can be controlled "smart" are displayed in the showroom.

Meeuwsen explains: "The starting point of our Smart Door concept is the FUHR motor lock and the automatic FUHR motor lock. These motor locks can be controlled in various ways. For example, with a fingerprint scanner, which is extremely user-friendly. It is also possible to enter an access code via a keypad next to the door. Another option is access control via the SmartTouch transponder in one's pocket, with the door detecting presence. With the transponder in one's pocket, it is sufficient to touch the door handle to gain access. The transponder can also function as a handheld transmitter. The detection distance is customizable and with the push of a button on the transponder, the door can already be opened remotely. Also available are wireless switches that can provide access."

Totally contemporary is gaining access via an app on the smartphone. This is possible with the help of the FUHR SmartConnect easy module. "SmartConnect easy not only offers smart operation, but also additional security. Through feedback to the app, the user knows whether the door is open or closed," says Meeuwsen.

"The SmartConnect easy system is the most optimal solution to safely open and monitor any door with one of our motor locks. With the app it is also possible to work remotely, when someone needs to be granted access. In the app, individual user management can be done, with a maximum of as many as 200 logged-in users."

Installing the SmartConnect easy module is child's play: cable-free and very efficient to install, only a standard wall outlet is sufficient and the rest needs to be done with the app. The app itself is easy and very intuitive to use and is available for both iOS and Android.
