For the last year and a half, machine builders have practically only been able to show their products to customers through a 3D presentation. And they have succeeded, but the impact of such a demonstration is still greater when those customers are actually standing next to you and you can talk to them face-to-face. This is no different at Elumatec, where they are looking forward to Polyclose with great anticipation. The market leader in the development and production of machines for machining profiles will once again highlight some recent developments, including the premiere of a compact and lightweight system at the lower end of the range.
Headquartered in Mühlacker, Germany, Elumatec now has more than 30 branches around the world. This market leader in the field of machines for processing aluminum, plastic and steel profiles today offers a complete range with sawing machines, stop and measuring systems, profile processing machines, angle jointing presses and assembly and workshop equipment. "Our range is divided into families, such as the SBZ 14x, the SBZ 122 and the SBZ 628. Within each family, chassis and body are the same, but based on customers' wishes and needs, we provide customized systems," says Bas Ladestein, managing director of Elumatec Benelux BV.
"Close cooperation with our customers has always been one of the cornerstones of our success. We listen to market needs and our R&D department converts trends into innovative solutions or optimizations of our existing products. We supply machine tools to partners in the construction sector, as well as for industrial applications."
The booth at Polyclose is proof of the drive for innovation that is in Elumatec's DNA. After all, the machine builder is once again presenting some striking optimizations and innovations there. For example, the company has made a number of improvements to the SBZ 140. Since users had to bend down rather deeply to insert profiles, the machine bed was raised quite a bit. In addition, the zero point against which to lay the profile is now at the front. That means less bending and reaching. Furthermore, the security of the machine is done via a laser scanner. If someone enters the scanning zone, the speed of the machine decreases and it eventually stops. Until now, one then had to press the button to restart the machine, but now this is done automatically and the machine continues by itself when there are no more obstacles. The service hatch, for refilling oil, for example, is now also more easily accessible from the front. Finally, the pendulum module ensures that there are no more dead times, since the next profile can already be prepared while the previous one is still being processed.
"Meanwhile, the SBZ 628 exists in three variants: S, XL and XXL. This largest version guarantees unprecedented flexibility, thanks to the linear servo drive, fully automatic residual part handling, 2 stable sawing units and up to eight spindles for milling or drilling," Ladestein continues.
"We have further established, that there is a great demand for small, compact, light machines, sometimes called entry-level machines, with which companies can still take a big step towards automatic processing of profiles without large investments. With this in mind, we developed a new profile processing machine, which we intend to present to the general public in a preview at Polyclose. This will immediately be a nice addition to the bottom end of our range."
