To make good, fast and accurate milling, drilling, sawing and welding of frame, window and door profiles accessible to both large, medium and small players in the plastic frame industry, specialist in welding and machining machines Kruba BV provides a choice of innovative and technically high quality machine tools that can be placed both standalone and in series. The machine tools usually have a short delivery time and can be made ready for production very quickly, allowing the machinery to literally grow with the organization.

The fully automatic Scarabeo sawing center from Pertici Industries is catching the eye of the market, which also allows wider and higher plastic frame profiles to be cut.

"The sawing center guarantees perfect value for money and optimal production," says Cees van Essen, director of Kruba BV. "For many customers, a double mitre saw is usually sufficient in terms of production capacity. With the Scarabeo sawing center, however, all profiles are cut fully automatically. The time savings when using the sawing center compared to a double miter saw machine is so high that the operator can simultaneously operate another machine. Moreover, during the fully automatic sawing process, workers can place labels on the profiles and sort and process leftover parts better in the process. This results in higher efficiency, a tidier factory and better utilization of all residual pieces."

Dynamic screw unit for an even higher production

Also of great interest is the Thorwesten universal CNC machining center type TH-PBZ-4 for plastic profiles, with which all milling and drilling operations for, for example, dewatering, aeration, lock housings and crank and cylinder holes in plastic can be easily realized, which also applies to screwing the steel or plastic reinforcement. "The universal machining center is equipped with the latest CNC control, including a graphic 3D representation of the machining," Van Essen says.

"If required, the center can also be equipped with a dynamic screw unit, which increases production (even) further. The input and output tables are available in standard and extended versions, for machining frame profiles up to more than five meters."

This corner was machined and seam welded on the new Urban Welding Machine.

HVL connection single, double and straight-up oblique

In recent months, Kruba BV has significantly innovated its wood jointing (HVL) machining and welding machines. "Our latest HVL CNC machining center offers a host of flexible solutions. For example, it is possible to mill intermediate posts (contour milling), to mill 'behind-the-seam' freely and - if necessary - to mill away the fiberglass in the fiberglass-reinforced plastic profiles. This is highly appreciated not only in the Netherlands, but also across the border," Van Essen said. Innovative in the Kruba range is an HVL machining center that allows the frame profiles to be milled simultaneously on both the inside and outside. After milling, the profiles can be joined mechanically or welded on a standard Urban machine as desired.

"With the Kruba CNC 4024-2 HVL machine, we also offer a new straight-angle joint developed in close cooperation with our customer."

The best and fastest solution for seamless welding

In addition to its own HVL machining centers, Kruba BV's advanced four-head Urban welding machine also offers the ability to make a seamless welded joint in as little as a minute and a half of welding and machining time.

"The Urban welding method allows the welding of different profiles, including the combination of a frame profile with stop and a frame profile without stop," Van Essen said. "The method is not dependent on profile tolerances. There is also no need to distinguish between profiles with or without aluminum or wood (grain) foils. Even thicker foils are no problem at all. Plastic profiles with an aluminum outer shell can be machined effortlessly and with high accuracy."

The Urban four-head welding machine can be placed as desired in combination with an Urban CNC angle machining machine and an automatic Kruba unloading system. "We installed this combination early this year at the company Goemaat in Goedereede (South Holland). This plastic and aluminum window frame manufacturer opted for a compact corner arrangement, allowing optimal efficiency and minimal use of space to go hand-in-hand perfectly."

Easy sawing and milling of plastic glass frames

Finally, Van Essen mentions several Urban machines for easy cutting and milling of glass moldings. Such as an extensive machine, which allows up to four (!) glass battens to be cut simultaneously: two on the width dimension and two on the height dimension. The machine comes standard in combination with an electronic length stop.
