Those who think it is wonderfully quiet in the Achterhoek region are correct when it comes to tourist delights. In Zelhem, however, it is anything but quiet, judging by the activity at Venster Techniek. Manufacturers of window frames who have found their way to the high-end sills the company produces, know that innovation is part of Venster Techniek's business process.
Working feverishly last year, on new developments that will solve problems that director and owner Jurgen Rensen identifies in his industry. We talk to him about some impressive ideas that are ripe for launch.

Operation of front door no longer presents locking problems
"After the completion of a home, most complaints arise around the front door, which is no longer properly sealed due to door action. Draught and moisture intrusion are then the result. We wanted to do something about that and we succeeded," Rensen opens the interview. The solution is called VTS DOOR. Rensen has already applied for a patent for the concept, which consists of a combination of sill, frame seals, a self-developed corner piece and a lock.
"By applying this concept, especially for wooden doors, an air and watertight seal is guaranteed, up to a curvature of the door of as much as 8 mm," explains Rensen. "Even with that curvature, all functions are retained. Operation remains light, by means of key or door handle. This rain- and windproof door system is automatically burglar-proof sealed, the locks for the front and back door are 'matching'."
The system provides sheer benefits. Rensen lists a number of them, such as the prevention of complaints and additional costs; the "first time right" percentage for installation skyrockets. This also prevents damage to the image of the frame manufacturer and the installation company. Sustainability is also served by the VTS DOOR system, Rensen believes: "Due to the good sealing, the insulating effect is BENG-worthy. The components are cradle-to-cradle recyclable for 90% and maintenance costs drop dramatically."

The other developments also make sense
Window Technology is fully engaged in the automation of the production process, in order to cope with the initiated growth. In doing so, new paths are being taken. Rensen: "We are going to focus on the development of total concepts for the entire facade. Collaboration and innovation will predominate here, we will put the emphasis in product developments on insulation, in connection with the new performance requirements for new homes."
Currently, Venster Techniek is working on two developments that can be called high-profile. "For example, together with KEGRO doors from Groesbeek, we are developing a wooden door that can be combined with a plastic frame. This gives you the best of both worlds. A wooden door is more stable than a plastic door and also cheaper. In terms of aesthetics, many new possibilities come with the use of wood."
Another development involves a sill system for aluminum frames. "For each profile house, we are developing our own sill system. Of course, we guarantee the same quality we are known for with our EEAL sills," says Rensen in conclusion.
