The new modular MACO Protect counter-espagnolette makes the production of high-quality double doors more flexible and efficient, while offering greater convenience for the user. In the workshop, you’ll immediately notice the difference when parts fit together effortlessly and every step of the process goes smoothly. This is especially true when you can also meet individual customer requests without complicating scheduling, inventory management, or installation.
The new MACO Protect counter-espagnolette builds on this. The flexible, three-part system provides a uniform technical foundation for high-quality double doors made of wood, plastic, or aluminum. At its core is a new operating concept featuring a reinforced, high-quality tilt-and-slide mechanism. This provides you with a solution that adapts to a wide range of projects and offers you noticeably more freedom in your day-to-day work.
The contra-espagnolette consists of three components that you can easily connect to each other and expand as needed with additional modules. Because they are shorter, the components can be packaged more compactly. This makes transportation easier and saves space in the warehouse.
The modular design makes it easy to accommodate different door sizes and project requirements. You can adapt individual components to the installation situation or expand the system with additional modules for door heights up to 3025 mm. This gives you greater design flexibility and makes planning more straightforward.
Practical benefit: Some models are suitable for both left- and right-hand doors without any modifications. This allows you to keep fewer variants in stock and simplifies production planning.

Every machining step saved counts. The optimized lever mechanism of the counter-espagnolette takes up very little space. In systems with a hardware groove, it fits directly into the existing groove without requiring any additional milling. The installation height has been reduced to just 6 mm. This allows for greater tolerance in the rebate clearance and enables use in aluminum systems. The travel of the upper and lower locking pins is adjustable. This allows you to precisely adjust the counter-espagnolette to the rebate clearance and the chosen threshold solution.
From manually operated to automatic or fully motorized locking doors: the counter-espagnolette can be combined with door locks from the HO-BO and MF-HO platforms within the MACO Protect product family. The system is available in widths of 24 and 28 mm, in versions with two or four secondary locks. This allows you to meet a wide range of comfort and security requirements using the same technical foundation.
All models offer the option of a day-stand mode with matching MACO proDoor day-stand openers and electric door openers. In combination with compatible MACO multi-point locks, the door can also be easily integrated into smart home applications via Matter. This allows the system to accommodate modern control options and future needs.
Depending on the profile system used, burglar-resistant door solutions up to resistance class SKG** are also possible. The tested combination of all system components used is the determining factor. This broad compatibility gives you greater freedom of choice. With a single technical foundation, you can meet a variety of customer needs. This simplifies planning and opens up new possibilities when designing modern door concepts.

The new operating concept also offers noticeable comfort in everyday use. The reinforced control lever fits comfortably in the hand and is easy to operate. High-quality surfaces contribute to a durable finish with a polished appearance. Maintenance also remains simple. If the tilt-and-slide mechanism is damaged due to improper operation, the affected part can be replaced individually. Therefore, it is not necessary to replace the entire counter-espagnolette.
With the modular MACO Protect counter-espagnolette, you’re getting a well-thought-out solution that reduces the number of variants, simplifies inventory management, and cuts down on processing steps. This gives you more freedom when assembling modern double doors and makes the entire process—from planning to installation—easier. Users benefit from convenient operation.
