Compact sensor lock gives access control new dimension

As a follow-up to the sensor locks Argus 40, 60 and 80 introduced in 2019, dormakaba is proud to present the Argus V60 sensor lock. The recently launched invention not only combines a sophisticated solution for modern access control in a particularly compact design. Thanks to the exceptionally high detection rate of this new addition to the dormakaba family, every building visitor - wanted or unwanted - is also guaranteed to be noticed.

As a total provider of innovative technologies and access solutions for better and secure buildings, rooms and premises, the company is once again giving a new dimension to the concept of access control with the new Argus V60. And this is mainly due to the dimensions of the recently presented novelty. Because while the Argus 40 (length 1.20 meters) and the Argus 60 and 80 (both 1.65 meters long) already have a fairly common lock length, the Argus V60 is distinguished in particular by a very reduced lock length of only 24 centimeters. This makes it the most compact sensor lock currently available.

"By applying a new, revolutionary sensor technology, with this product we offer both architects and users more freedom and security around access control," said product manager Bas Wouters, responsible on behalf of dormakaba Netherlands for the extensive range of Access Automation Solutions. "Without having to compromise on security. Especially in places where space is limited and there is heavy passenger traffic, the comfortable, space-saving and highly reliable Argus V60 can be elegantly integrated."

High detection rate

In addition to its compact design, the new sensor lock also excels in terms of detection. "Compared to the Argus 40, 60 and 80, the detection rate is even higher," explains Wouters. "Every person who enters an office or building through the lock is detected. Even when several visitors pass through the lock simultaneously and without any gap between them."

But there is more. The installation of card readers is carried out in the case of the Argus V60 in the same way as for the other variants of the Argus range. Furthermore, the sensor lock can be perfectly combined with dormakaba's SafeRoute escape route protection system. And when it comes to functionality, the Argus V60 also has everything to offer.

"The system allows for two-way separation," Wouters continued. "As a result, both incoming and outgoing passenger traffic can be closely monitored. What's more, the Argus V60 fits in seamlessly with contemporary interior design requirements. According to the Argus color index, the system comes standard in the colors café cream, white and black. Optionally, it is even possible to provide certain components with a different hue, for example in accordance with the user's house style."

Extensive product family
The Argus sensor locks from dormakaba consist of a sensor-monitored passageway with automatic door elements in various designs. They allow comfortable, touch-free passage even with bags or luggage. Immediately after passage, the doors close automatically to prevent unauthorized passage.

"Our sensor locks are an elegant form of access control for the areas of a building to be secured, for example in the entrance hall and foyer," says Wouters. "With a wide range of design possibilities and various options, they enable access control in a modern design. Thanks to integrated sensor technology, they also ensure reliable separation of persons and a high level of security.
